Project Murinsel – Graz
Project Murinsel in Graz has been successfully completed in cooperation with Austrian company Hostra.
** Murinsel construction was built on the fact that Graz was’European City of Culture’. It is also the bridge between the two shores – the more traditional one dominated by Schloßberg and the more modern one, where is Kunsthaus.
The steel construction is made of half-shelled shells, and in fact it is a boat with anchored anchors and additional bridges connecting it to both sides of the river Mura. The island has a stage and a café where you can enjoy watching the Schloßberg or Kunsthaus.
The island had a temporary purpose, so after the celebration in 2003 it was supposed to be sold, but the citizens so much loved that it was decided to leave it anchored wherever it was. **
Gumiimpex – GRP has participated in the modernization and refurbishment project of Murinsel itself, and a blue and black painted EPDM granular rubber is applied, which is watertight, quickly dried and has sound, thermal and noise insulation.
